Farewell to Nova Scotia

So its been awhile and this post has taken me about 3 log ins to complete but here it is.

It has been a while since I have posted on here, one reason is that life has become increasingly busy with work and the general day to day bullshit that many of us have to deal with.
The second reason is that I just got back from a 12 day trip NS. I haven't been home for an extended period of time in about 3 years, well there was one long weekend but that really doesn't count.
One of the main purposes for this trip was to witness the marriage of Frair Donk. I unfortunately couldn't stay for the reception or the party that I am sure that happened afterwards but the ceremony was wonderful, partly because it was quick and because the church old and very quaint!?!? Yeah yeah I know not a very manly word.
The couple of days before were great, met up with Schmunky and the gang for the after rehearsal getogether and consumed many beers and sang songs to the tune of 2 if not 3 guitars played by, Schmuky, Rob, and the groom to be himself. This ended around 12-12:30 but was continued on by a couple of us, T-boy, Marky Mark, Schmunky, T-boy current flousy and Nadine(Marks woman) and myself. T broke into his fathers house around 1 in the morning and we sat, drank and Schmnky played tunes till his fingers bled or at least till he complained they were going to bleed. This went on until 3 inn the morn when all decided it was time to pass out.
The next morn was a hard one but we all were up and out the door around 8 am, Schmunk and I were meeting D-mac for 9 holes of golf and let me tell ya that Red Bull in the morn is a good thing at times like that. After driving around for a bit we found a course that was booked up and hit the links. That afternoon I met up with J and went out a couple of drinks with him before he went to work at the Triangle and there was introduced to Keith's Red and Keith's Honey Brown.
Damn thats a fine couple of beers. After this I went over to Rob's drank and sang some more songs then around midnight I went back to the hotel where my mother and I were staying, got her and went back down to the Triangle and closed the bar.
Next day was the wedding and the 3 hour drive down to Gilbert's Cove.
Getting there I then had to track down my brother who had over the past day tore all the ligaments in his ankle on a festive night of his own.
Needless to say it was a great time back East but I did come to the realization that it just isn't home anymore. It's sad to say that I have come to love the West and all it has to offer. This is not to say that I don't like it back home but I can't see me moving back there anytime soon like I used to believe.

  • No,
Wasn't vanessa, it was la femme de jour. He had another femme de soire at the post reception party at Riproren's. I need a scorecard if i'm going to keep track of that.
