HHHEEEEEEEYYYYY TTTOOONNNNNYYYY!!!!!!

WOOT WOOT!!!!!

Let the bells ring, horns blow and the girls take off their tops. The Flames have signed one of the top wingers in the league, Tony Amonte!
They also signed Darren Mcarty which sould add some muscle to team.
I think this year the Flames have if not as good of a chance as last year but better.
I would like to see them not only make it to but win the Stanley Cup!!

  • As long as the flames make the playoffs this year, it will be a good year. Don't want to be put in the same boat as Anaheim, Carolina, etc.
As for Philly. Same old. Gone in the first round, if they even make it. Some very good teams in the East. Toronto and Philly could be on the outside looking in.

  • Well sure they could be...that's why they play the games. However, From what I see on TSN/ Sportsnet/Score, Philly are being called the Favorite in the east with the Foresburg signing, on paper at least. As a fan who has followed the team for quite some time I'll tell you that I am very optomistic about the Flyers this year, Probably more so than in recent memory.
BTW Philly havn't been eliminated in the first round for a while...They've been knocking out the Leafs two years running.
As for the flames...they should make the playoffs, but the pacific division will look different. Colorado will be good...but not as good as they have been, Vancouver will be good and Edmonton, with Pronger and Peca, will be much better than last year...( possible battle of Alberta in the playoffs for the first time in a while eh?)

  • Its going to be an interrtesting year in the league with so much shuffleing going on the new CBA has changed the game dramatically. No longer can teams build a team of all high priced players but now have to build a team that meshes together into an actual team. The teams that were aleady in this frame of mind are going to have an advantage over the otheres for the first year until the new system really sinks in.
